No equipment needed - we lend you a paddle and you will understand the rules in 5 minutes. It helps if you have played tennis, padel, table tennis or badminton before. Fair warning: pickleball is addictive.

A racket sport that mixes tennis, badminton and table tennis. You play with a solid paddle and a perforated plastic ball on a badminton-sized court. You'll understand the rules in 5 minutes – the addiction kicks in around minute 30.
Yes, and you have a big head start. Tennis coordination, court reading and footwork transfer directly. Three things are different: shorter strokes, the net game (the so-called kitchen / non-volley zone) and a paddle instead of strings. Usually 1–2 hours is enough to play at a decent level. Bonus: pickleball is easier on knees and shoulders.
Pickleball is faster in reflexes at the net, padel is more strategic in the back third thanks to wall rebounds. Pickleball has no walls, shorter rallies, more emphasis on placement and the dink game. Padel players usually adapt in one session and often play both.
No. A pickleball paddle is smaller, shorter, solid (no strings) and has a different weight. We'll lend you a paddle and balls for your first session, so you don't need to buy anything. If it grips you – and it will – your own paddle costs from about 1,200 CZK.
Pickleball is the most beginner-friendly racket sport out there. We'll explain the rules, lend you a paddle, drop you straight into a game with other newcomers. Most people win their first rally within 10 minutes.
Absolutely. Pickleball is the world's number one sport for players 50+. The smaller court means shorter distances, gentler on knees and shoulders than tennis, but full intensity in your head. It's played from 8 to 80 – often together on the same court.
Outdoor courts (Medlánky, Řečkovice) are always free – just show up and play. Indoor (Jundrov, NC Královo Pole) we split the hall costs, usually up to 150 CZK per person for 90 minutes. No membership, no monthly fees. Overview in the When, where & prices section.
We play in winter too. Indoor locations (Jundrov, NC Královo Pole) run year-round, outdoor (Medlánky, Řečkovice) April–October depending on the weather. Current status always in the Pickleball Brno WhatsApp group.
We don't drop you in blindly. When you come for the first time, we play a few quick rallies with you to see where you fit. The goal is for everyone to have a balanced opponent and a good game – not for a beginner to get crushed by a pro, or vice versa. It's not a test, it's 5 minutes to find your bearings.
